Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. These tales and legends were very favourably received by a Wide circle of readers, and by the Press generally, as they appeared from month to month in the Celtic Magazine. They are now pub lished in a collected form at the request of many who have previously perused them. I would like to present the. Public with the names of their authors; but as one of them – the Norman and Torquil of the Celtic Magazine – objects to have his name made public, although he has written the greater number of them, I must content myself now by taking advantage of this opportunity to thank him.
