DR. M.K. KHERA is Professor and Head of the Post-graduate Department of Physics as well as the Dean, Faculty of Science, University of Kashmir. He is the, pioneers who established what was formerly known as the ‘Gulmarg Research Observatory’ for conducting high altitude research in Physical and Biological sciences. He has a number of publications in the fields of cosmic rays and atmospheric electricity to his credit. Some of the other interests include Environmental problems and Energy. He has participated in many national and international conferences. DR. B.D. SHARMA is Professor and Head of the Post-graduate Department of Economics in the University of Kashmir. He is also the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences. He has many research publications to his credit and has been a member of a number of learned societies. Dr. Sharma has participated in many national and international conferences. DR. MAJID HUSAIM is Professor of Geography in the Central University, .Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi. Earlier, he had served in the North Eastern Hill University, Shillong as a Reader and Head, and the University of Kashmir as Professorr and Chairman of the Department of Geography. He is the author of numerous books and has over three dozen research papers to his credit. At present, he is one of the Vice-Presidents of the International Association of Landscape Ecology and the President of the Indian Cartographic Association as well as life member of several professional associations.
