Bertolt Brecht
Threepenny Opera

الدعم
It is a representative dramatic work of Brecht in his early time. The story takes place in London in the 1920s. Macheath was the leader of the robbers. Businessman Peachum controlled the fate of all the beggars in the city. Macheath married Pitchham’s daughter Polly in secret. Peachum took his daughter as his capital and felt he lost a lot, so that he reported Macheath to the government. Although the police chief had a special friendship with Macheath, he was forced to arrest Macheath. Peachum coerced the beggars to march on the Queen’s Coronation Ceremony to force the police chief to execute Macheath. Macheath was ready to trade money for freedom, but his wife Polly and the fellow robbers all valued money more. Nobody wanted to save him. Macheath’s safety was on the line.
