The year 1915 was the second stage of the First World War. France and Britain launched the Battle of Champaign, the Battle of Artois, the Battle of Ypres and Los. In the face of the new weapons – machine guns and high-power guns, the dominant traditional military ideas of frontal attack, charge and fight, and repel the enemy”s defense lines have failed. In the western front, there was no gain except the war of attrition of life. Only limited progress has been made in the invention of tanks and the use of smoke screens in Britain. The British Navy held the sea power, but the commander-in-chief was conservative, and the naval battle was ineffective, and there was no positive result. In this volume, Churchill proposed the strategic decision to attack the Dardanelles, which had a decisive impact on the combination of international forces and the whole war.
