Rewriting the History of the Late Ming Dynasty: The End of the Dynasty is one of the "Rewriting the History of the Late Ming Dynasty" series written by Mr. Fan Shuzhi. It tells the historical fact that Emperor Chongzhen, though not the "Emperor subjugating the Dynasty", inevitably encountered dynasty subjugation. The Ming Dynasty was engulfed in the history in decades. Was it due to domestic strife, foreign aggression, estrangement between the monarch and the ministers, or loss of people’s hearts? Facing the dilemma between resisting foreign aggression and pacifying the interior, Emperor Chongzhen was unable to save the desperate situation in the absence of military strength and financial resources. He pretended to have "no party affiliation" to attack and frame others, which caused loss of trust between Emperor Chongzhen and his ministers and irreparable damage to the order of the imperial court. Nothing can be done about flowers falling away. The merits and demerits are left in annals of history.
