Barbara Lewandowska-Tomaszczyk is Professor Ordinarius and Chair of English Language and Applied Linguistics at the University of Lodz, Poland, and Professor of English Linguistics at the Academy of International Studies in Lodz. Her research interests are primarily in semantics and pragmatics of natural language, corpus linguistics, and their applications in translation studies and lexicography. She has published a range of books and papers in these areas and lectured at universities in Europe, America, and Asia. Hanna Pulaczewska studied English and General Linguistics at the University of Lódz, Poland, and the University of Regensburg, Germany. She is Professor of English Linguistics at the Academy of International Studies in Lodz and holds courses at the University of Regensburg. Her publications and academic teachings focus on contrastive pragmatics and rhetoric, sociolinguistics and cognitive linguistics. She has also taught intercultural communication in business ventures.
