The First Christmas 

This book tells the story of the birth of Jesus, from the angel’s visit to Mary to the flight to Egypt. It is very simple and straightforwardly faithful to the Bible accounts in Matthew and Luke. The charming pencil and watercolour illustrations by Sophie Allsopp respectfully complement the great story, adding detail and warmth that will be appreciated by adult and child alike. This little hardback is a beautiful but very accessible presentation of the familiar nativity story which makes a lovely Christmas gift.

Über den Autor

Sophie Allsopp spent her childhood endlessly painting, sewing, cutting, and sticking – basically making stuff all the time (except when she was exploring). She studied for an illustration degree in Bath, then set up an illustration business with help from the Prince’s Youth Business Trust, which has flourished with a wide range of clients ever since. In her spare time she still makes stuff – jewellery, dresses and needle felting (amongst other things!)
