Acharya Chatursen’s "Vaishali Ki Nagarvadhu" is one of the best novels in Hindi.In his words – "I cancel all of my creations which I have composed so far and happy to announce, ‘Vaishali Ki Nagarvadhu’ as my only creation."This novel is a living narration of the Indian life style. The story background is cultural and historical which is connected with the Buddhism period.The book describes about ‘Amrapali’, the main character of the novel, related to the contemporary Lichavi Union’s capital, Vaishali.In fact, the novel describes about the clashes of democratic systems of the Kingdoms – Magadh and Vaishali.The Author here supports Vaishali.
