Twain Mark
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Annotated)

Soporte
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is about a little child growing up along the Mississippi River. The narrative is set in the imaginary town of St. Petersburg, which was inspired by Twain’s hometown of Hannibal, Missouri. Tom Sawyer lives with his half-brother Sid and Aunt Polly. After a quarrel, Tom gets his clothing dirty and is forced to paint the fence the next day as a punishment. He successfully persuades his buddies to sell him tiny trinkets in exchange for the opportunity to accomplish his job. He then trades the treasures for Sunday School tickets, which are usually given out for memorising verses, and redeems them for a Bible, much to the superintendent’s astonishment and consternation.
