The book is one of The Newly Edited 13th Classics edited by Professor Yuan Xingpei.The book is compiled on the basis of the photocopy Nanhua Scriptures of Gu Yi Series (Continuation), upon revision from the Exegesis on Zhuangzi (Song Dynasty) of Gu Yi Series by Li Shuchang, and with reference to the achievements of scholars like Guo Xiang, Cheng Xuanying, Wang Xianqian, Guo Qingfan, Qian Mu, Wang Shumin and Chen Guying, in a bid to help readers better understand the philosophical views of Zhuangzi.
