Shi Chen Monument

Shi Chen Monument, carved in the Confucian Temple in Qufu in the second year of Jianning by the Ling Emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty (169). The total height of the stele is 207.5 meters, the height of the body is 173.5 meters, the width is 85 meters, and the thickness is 22.5 meters. It is now in the Xicang Han and Wei Inscriptions Exhibition Hall of Confucius Mansion. The inscription records the visits to the Confucian House by Shichen, the prime minister of Lu Kingdom, and Li Qian, the official, to worship the Confucian Temple in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Shi Chen Monument, Yiying Monument and Ceremonial Monument are collectively called the "Three Steles of Confucian Temple". The calligraphy is dignified and elegant, round and honest, and is a model of Han Li »s maturity. Ming Guo Zongchang called this stele: "It is elegant and extraordinary, and it can be a model of the generations, and it is not accessible to later generations." Fang Shuo of the Qing Dynasty believed that this monument: "The calligraphy is grand and profound, deep and strong, with both structure and meaning. It is the product of the temple, and it is also authentic." Qi Gong also praised the Shi Chen Monument for "being more vigorous". Shi Chen Monument is also called Shi Chen Monument for Front and Back. The front and back are divided into stele yang and stele yin. The front stele is Inscription of the Prime Minister of the State of Lu Shichen Worshiping Confucius, with seventeen lines and thirty-six characters. The back stele is The Prime Minister of Lu Kingdom Shichen Worships the Stone Stele of the Confucian Temple, with fourteen lines and thirty-six characters. This book is part of the front monument.
