Shirley grew up in the sunny climes of Southern Africa. Her work with Hospice in Johannesburg began in 1980 when she and her husband Stan, put all their energies and focus into the growing of the organisation and the care of the patients and their families. Through years of listening and conversing with people, her own perceptions and consciousness widened and expanded. In 1996 her borders expanded too and Shirley now lives in the UK, travels extensively, bringing greater awareness to all those who come her way.
