As one of the four sages of Yuyao, Yangming was a thinker, educator, strategist, litterateur and calligrapher in the middle of Ming dynasty. Later generations praised him as "the three immortals of virtue, meritorious service and true words". Lu Zheng, a new and sharp historical writer, even called him "the leading of the Ming dynasty". Although Wang Yangming’s thought of mind had a great impact on China and east Asia, and his legendary deeds were widely spread at home and abroad, primary and middle school students in Yuyao were not familiar with Wang yangming’s thought of mind and his literary works.
