Reflections on Life is a series of poems covering one mans journey through lifeits trials, failures, successes, and dreams. It is a reflection of lifes true values and ultimate satisfaction. This collection is dedicated to my friends and my family, who have given me love and comfort. I especially thank my mother, who has supported me in hard times without reservation, and my wife, Frances, who encourages me every day to write. I hope you enjoy reading these poems as much as I have enjoyed writing them.

John R. Matthews is retired and lives on a small ranch in Luling, Texas, with his wife, Frances. He spends a lot of time in their cliffside cabin by a small running creek in the deep woods with very tall pecan trees. He is a former intelligence officer, senior executive with a Fortune 50 company, and high school English teacher. He is a graduate of Texas A&M with graduate studies at University of Michigan Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and University of Texas at Arlington.
