A native of India, J. J. Mangalam received an M.Sc. (First Class) degree from the University of Panjab in Lahore; he was subsequently granted the Ph.D. by Cornell University. J. J. Mangalam is presently an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Guelph, Ontario.
