Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. In refpeet to thefe two Works of Dr. Mather, while the Firft may be thought to be more im portant to Hifiorians, the Latter is the more diflicult to be found. The former is a contemporaneous Hif’tory, while the latter is a Hifiory ofa previous Age chiefly drawn from Works fince as well known as in the Time of this Author. This may account in fome Degree for its having met with but a fingle Impreflion in one hundred and eighty-fix Years.
