This book is designed for those who have not yet been lured into the wild rush of our hurry-skurrying period, and who do not find idolatrous pleasure in flinging themselves beneath its chariot-wheels. It is consequently for males who are not accustomed to valuing everything in terms of how much time it saves or wastes. In a nutshell, it is for a select few. These, we believe, ‘still have time.’ Without any pangs of conscience, they may spend the most fertile and robust hours of their day pondering the future of our education; they may even believe when the evening comes that they have utilised their day in the most respectable and beneficial way.
