The author was born September 7, 1922, left home at the age of 14, graduated from high school at the age of 16, entered college at the age of 18, was called to service December 15, 1941 with 30 days notice. Served in the army from 1942 to September 7, 1945 where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf clusters. (five awards) Named to Who”s Who in american Colleges and Universities 1948; Who”s Who in California 1979; and named to Cambridge”s Professional Achievement award 2007. He is a Civil Engineer.
