She is author of Shadow Traces: Seeing Japanese/American and Ainu Women in Photographic Archives (University of Illinois Press, 2022) and Imaging Japanese America: The Visual Construction of Citiznship, Nation, and the Body (NYU Press, 2004), and co-editor of Miné Okubo: Following Her Own Road (University of Washington Press, 2008).
