aHeart of a Dog

Apoio
Heart of a Dog is a fantastic satirical novel, reflecting the social life of Moscow in 1920s. The famous European medical professor Pleobarensky and his assistant Dr. Bormiantar made a bold experiment, implanting the pituitary gland of a dead man into a dog’s body, trying to find out the secret of human body rejuvenation. Although the dog has human appearance and language ability, it has no moral consciousness. He was shameless and unscrupulous. He did whatever he wanted, which made the professor’s family uneasy. At last, he pulled out his gun and threatened the life of his founder. The professor and his assistant had to turn it back into a dog. The author uses ingenious artistic techniques to integrate reality and fantasy, tragedy and comedy, relaxed humor and acrimonious satire. At the same time, he puts forward a series of important propositions related to the development of human beings.
