Who knew that most college professors do not make a living wage and that impacts college educations! Second-Class Professor explores the misuses of financial aid, the way most professors work for free, the safety issues affecting them, and how they aren’t rewarded for good teaching. Issues such as grade-inflation, unhealthy competition among colleagues, and open-enrollment will be explored in a humorous, sometimes startling way.

‘Second-Class Professor’ should spark some national debate and hopefully lead to reform in higher education. Ms. Hurd’s book has been praised by her colleagues who are waiting to see the reaction to her insights.

Angela Hurd has taught college courses for 16 years at both 2 and 4-year universities and colleges. She has taught in private and state colleges and for-profit schools as well. She is a certified tutor and a frequent guest speaker to local debate teams. She judges high school debate and is occasionally called upon to review local theater presentations. She sings in a worship band and choreographs and directs children’s music. Her academic pursuits are balanced by the 5 fitness classes she teaches at a local health club and her many outdoor pursuits. She resides in Ohio with her husband and two sons.
