Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. There is no need to say much of the contents of this book. Some it will attract by its devotion, some by its philosophy perhaps; but all it will charm by its complete sincerity. The scenes of Augustine’s early life stand out like pictures; and his mother lives before our mind’s eye as if we had seen her in the flesh. The psychologist will notice how acutely the author traces the workings of his own mind, particularly in childhood.
