Passover has always been synonymous with sacrifice. Today, the Essenes bring to the world a new vision of this thousand-year-old feast, a vision that ennobles man by enjoining him to make the greatest sacrifice: that of his identification with the body and the personality who directs his life and prevents him from rising to the Light. This sacrifice of the shadow that governs our lives, the "skin of the beast", is the opening of the way of the resurrection and of the life of which Jesus spoke.
