Matthias Bormuth, 1963 geboren, ist Medizinethiker und Kulturwissenschaftler, hat seit 2012 die Heisenberg-Professur für Vergleichende Ideengeschichte an der Universität Oldenburg inne und leitet dort das Karl-Jaspers-Haus. Er edierte Werke von Hannah Ahrendt, Karl Jaspers sowie Max Weber und veröffentlichte zahlreiche eigene Monografien, zuletzt Mit einer Handvoll Sand. Ingeborg Bachmann als Philosophin (2010).
