Walter Kolneder (1910–1994), Promotion 1949 in Innsbruck, Habilitation 1956 in Saarbrücken, wirkte nacheinander als Direktor des Konservatoriums der Stadt Luxemburg, der Städtischen Akademie der Tonkunst in Darmstadt und der Karlsruher Musikhochschule. Professor für Musikwissenschaft an der Universität Karlsruhe, zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen zur Musikgeschichte und Aufführungspraxis.
