off a spread she had just finished.
Here, this bag will last you for ever.
Keep your wool and needles in it.

Cut from cloth that kept me warm.
Made with hands of a loving mum.
Placed into my hands,
Passed straight to my heart.

Leonie E. Marson-Lewis was born in Jamaica and moved to England as a child and America as an adult. She lives in New Jersey with her family, where her poetry has been published in local newspaper; she also reads at poetry open mic venues in the area.
