Gary Smith is the Fletcher Jones Professor of Economics at Pomona College. He has written (or co-authored) more than 100 academic papers and 16 books, most recently, Distrust: Big Data, Data-Torturing, and the Assault on Science. His book, Standard Deviations: Flawed Assumptions, Tortured Data, and Other Ways to Lie With Statistics, was a London Times Book of the Week. The 9 Pitfalls of Data Science, coauthored with Jay Cordes, won the 2020 PROSE Award for Popular Science and Popular Mathematics.Margaret Smith is a Certified Financial Planner, Certified Coach, Enneagram Professional, and Author. She earned a simultaneous BA/MA Summa Cum Laude in Economics from Yale, a Ph D in Business Economics from Harvard University, and was an Economics Professor for a decade. Her book, Money: From Fear to Love, is the first to relate the nine Enneagram personality types to money, and is the basis for workshops given around the world.
