This book presents the results of testing and operation experience of Novikov gearing. It gives the grounding, engineering techniques of geometry and strength analysis, definition of the gearing quality and adaptability with account of its manufacture and assembly errors. It outlines the recommendations on the reasonable assignment of basic rack profile parameters, accuracy ratings and design strength safety factors. Also, ways of load-bearing capacity essential increase are described and several original varieties of Novikov gearing are shown.
