‘With Peace in Mind’ is a collection of short stories and poems, sometimes with a light Christian angle, written over a period of years. The authorhabitually wrote a poem for his wife on her birthday, their anniversary, Christmas, Easter or any other notable occasion and this is a selection of them. Other items werewritten for use teaching school or simply for the pleasure of writing.Many of the pieces have appeared in magazines and newspapers. Retiring from the Royal Air Force as a pilot at the age of 43, John entered college for a different career in teaching. On retiring again at 65 he now enjoys writing, mostly with a Christian angle. Married twice, losing both wives to cancer, the author has known to balance the full emotions of joy and sorrow in his life. His first wife, Flora, gave him two children and his second wife, Audrey, led them all into Christian living. She had been a missionary nurse in Kenya. John is an active member of an Anglican church.
