By telling the history of the errors when his youth and his conversion, St. Augustine has described that a soul away from God by the fury of the passions. This story is for Christians of all ages, the idea came from the charity, not for pride or the need for apology. The confessions of Augustine are useless to themselves, but they do not may be to the souls who, overwhelmed the weight of their sins, are tempted to despair. He wants to inspire the love of the goodness of God, make them taste the ineffable sweetness of His grace: even the righteous have fun learning the sins of sinners, not by malice, but because they are happy with the conversion and repentance. This is the substance and spirit of the Confessions of St. Augustine.
