Xiyuan Poems in Wen Zhengming”s Xing Script

Xiyuan Poems was written by Wen Zhengming when he was 56 years old when he was in the Imperial Academy in Beijing. It is composed of seven laws and ten poems in total. It describes the scenery of the imperial garden (now Zhongnanhai and Beihai) centered on the Taiye Pool in the west of the imperial palace. This volume was written on June 10th in Jiayin (15, 54), thirty years after the poem was written, and the calligrapher was eighty-five years old. The original is Tibetan scripture paper, wusi column. This volume of cursive script is vigorous and smooth, and is one of Wen Zhengming”s masterpieces in his later years.
