The first edition of this book is one book of the "Book Series of Chinese Cultural History" published in 1988. Later, it is reprinted after revised by the author in 2007. This is the second revision conducted by the author. It is included in Selected Works of Sun Changwu. The book is divided into four chapters: "Chinese Translations of Buddhist Scriptures and Their Literary Value", "Buddhism and Chinese Literati", "Buddhism and Chinese Literary Creation", and "Buddhism and Chinese Literary Thoughts".
